Walden Pond

Last Friday we went with the Avery's to explore Walden Pond! We all piled in our car and Jen gave us some history about it as we drove.
The Basics: Walden Pond is in Concord, Massachusetts and is where Henry David Thoreau lived alone for two years in the mid 1800's to write...

We had a lot of fun! It was a beautiful day, which was a relief since it has been so cloudy and rainy almost everyday since we have been here.

The sand was soft and the water was warm and perfect to play in! It was a last minute decision
for us to go so I brought what I could grab in under a minute, Cohen just played in his diaper without a swim suit which he didn't seem to mind. Cohen and Dylan had tons of fun together throwing sand back into the water and being adventurous!

Quincy Market at Faneuil Hall

Like I mentioned before, there is a really fun group of girls out here!

Last Saturday most of us went into Boston to check out Faneuil Hall.
We all rode the T together and when we came up from underground... we were right in the middle of the city!Here is the whole group that was able to go. You should have seen us climbing and descending stair cases with all these strollers! We also got lots of stares of people wondering where all these babies came from! Go ask your mom...

It was a lot cooler than any of us planned (I forget that we live so close to the ocean) so we quickly went to seek shelter and food inside the long large building, Quincy Market, that runs down the center of Faneuil Hall and all the shops.
It has tons of places to eat with lots of "Boston Chowda" and fish. I found the best fries and pasta here too!

We shopped a little and watched some street performers, then soon headed home.
Here we are making our way back, waiting for the T.
Cohen did pretty well and didn't get out of his stroller until the ride home. He sat next to me on the train and said "Wow!" as we flew down the tracks. He wasn't afraid this time and enjoyed the ride!

Country Club with Radebaugh Relatives

It turns out that Scott has some relatives on his mom's side that live in Cape Cod.
We got to meet them for dinner at their country club that had the best food and an awesome view of Boston and the ocean!

Cohen dove out of my arms 1.5 seconds after this so we weren't able to get another one, he wouldn't have it. (Maybe I could just photoshop another, less talkative head of mine in...)

Here is Scott's cousin Kevin and his wife Rachel, with one of the Radebaugh relatives and Regan.

We had a lot of fun getting to meet them (although I was wrestling Cohen most of the time, hense me not remembering their names) and are planning on visiting them again in Cape Cod next month!

Handmade Adorable Purses!

"BEE!"

Massachusetts has huge bumble bees everywhere! They are actually the only bug I have seen much of so far. Cohen gets so excited to go outside to the park everyday to see the "BEES!" Every time we approach the front door to leave, even if we aren't going to the park, he announces excitedly "BEE!" and looks me intently in the eyes to make sure I fully understand that there is a very real possibility that we will see them!

Cohen the camera man...

For the last year or so Cohen has been obsessed with the camera and loves to look at the pictures and videos I had taken of him on it. The second he would see me pull out the camera he would run to see what I had taken even though I hadn't had a chance to take one yet! I have many pictures of him blurred or just the top of his head.
In the last couple weeks he has figured out how to take pictures and these are a couple of photos of me that he took that I was surprised to see!

Here I am on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, this was the exact moment before Cohen got frustrated with the fact that I was on the phone. He threw my camera on the wood floor while the lens was open which jammed the lens! It won't open at all now and I am soooo sad! I loved my Sony camera, it took great pictures (that looked even more awesome when I would edit them in Picasa).
Fortunately, I still have a second Kodak camera to use, but the colors and clarity of the pictures are not very good at all. I hope to get the Sony fixed when I can, but for now I will have to do my site seeing with the Kodak... BOO HOO!
Lesson learned:
DON'T let your toddler play with something you care at all about.

And the baby is a........!

We had our ultrasound this morning and all looked well with our little one! Scott and I were SO ANXIOUS to finally see what this baby is! It had its hands up by its face and was acting like it just wanted to be left alone to sleep. I loved seeing our baby! We were so excited when we finally got to the part of seeing whether its a boy or a girl and we could clearly tell that...

IT'S A BOY!!!

We are so excited and I just keep looking at Cohen wondering if this baby is going to be as blond as Cohen and how their personalities are going to be different.
Every time Scott and I would talk about this baby's gender it just never seemed to fit the thought of it being a girl, now we know why! :)
Now, I am on the hunt for a boys name that goes well with Cohen and our last name Green. Please help me name this baby!!! I need suggestions and ideas!
I feel like I have looked at every website, but obviously I need to reread them and see if there are any names we love.
I am soooo excited for this September when we get to meet this little boy!!!

(I hopefully will be posting the ultrasound pics, I just need to find somewhere to scan them in.)

They may look innocent, but...

These boys are adorable and good thing too since just before this picture I had spent two hours trying to get them to eat SOMETHING for dinner (we were watching Jack for the evening). Then after only about a minute in the bathtub, Jack pooped. I immediately grabbed Cohen before it floated his direction and he ran off through the house naked while I took care of Jack. Once Jack was dressed I wrestled Cohen down and finally got him dressed. He then took off for the front room and slipped and fell on the wood floors. I went to see what he slipped on and stepped right into a huge lake of pee which I had no clue was there because he had done it while he was running around naked (and must have been saving up, might I add) and I was busy with Jack. I tip toed through the house to find wipes and disinfectant to try and get to the mess before Jack found his way into it too.
Right after that picture, Cohen swapped sippys with Jack to share germs.
Oh, what fun it will be to have two boys! What a rude awakening... :)

Mother's Day!

We had a great Mother's Day!
Scott made me breakfast to start the day and Cohen gave me an adorable card he and Daddy made together. :) Handmade cards are the best!

I love the ward out here. For starters, they gave all the mom's tomato plants and then they released church right after sacrament for everyone to go be with their families on Mother's Day! I thought that was awesome, Boston is growing on me!

We started exploring right after church and I found this lake across the street hidden in the trees and just had to get a picture. We drove to the other side to be able to get out and get one.

Next, Scott drove me to a park that I had been wanting to visit that is just around the corner from our condo. It is perfect for walks up the trails, picnics, fishing and duck feeding. This can replace our Provo Canyon for now. :)

I was so excited to see this little family...

After we went home ate lunch and took naps we decided to go see something together since it is our one day to do things with each other! We hoped on the T (subway) and headed for Boston. Cohen was totally overwhelmed by the trains jolts and bumpiness and was cuddly and clingy which was WONDERFUL because I didn't want him running around anyway!

We went to the harbor in south Boston and looked at the boats and had lots of fun looking at the city by the water.

Cheese! Or not...It would be nice if we could get this kids to smile for a few pictures!

On our way home back on the T. It was fun riding the train because we got to just hang out and experience something different, plus we missed tons of backed up traffic on the way home!

I had a great day spending time with Scott and Cohen. We love every second we have together and really miss each other all week. Cohen is so excited when Daddy is around!
I hope every Mom and Mom-to-be had a Happy Mother's Day!

Home sick?

Scott and I have both admitted to one another we already miss Utah and everything we love about it. I am surprised that he seems even a little worse than I do, since he was so eager to have new surroundings and has talked about moving back to California for years. I think it's because he has seen the worst in these Bostonians with days and days of rude comments and people slamming the door in his face. He still has a positive attitude about this whole experience even after almost two hard first weeks. He has been doing pretty good and has set goals for himself that I am sure he will reach and exceed! We are thankful we decided to come and do this and we have high hopes for the results of it all!

We went to our new ward last Sunday and there are 16 little kids in nursery and just 3 adults! Cohen seemed to do just fine when I left, but I may be staying in there if I don't get called first, just to help out. The ward seems like a great group of people with a lot of dentists and doctors, more laid back than the wards I have been in in Utah or visited in California. Our church building is nestled in a ton of foresty trees, it looks beautiful! I will have to get a picture this Sunday.

We have a date for our ultrasound finally! This Tuesday morning! I am feeling nervous and excited! I am not sure why I am nervous... not because I want one gender more than the other, but I think because it will seem real finally to be able to put a face to this baby. I have been feeling the baby move for a few weeks now, but I am still in awe that we are doing this all again! That there is an actual human being growing inside me, another person that isn't Cohen! That this is all real and we are half way done (maybe more if it shows up early like Cohen) and holy crap! I am going to be a mother of two! What will I do with myself? Scott and I lay in bed at night and can't wrap out heads around having another newborn. We laugh to ourselves knowing a small part of the chaos we are in for. Cohen also has a rude awakening coming his way... :)

I love the group of girls that are out here with us! We have so much fun together running places, going to the park or doing dinner together. I feel thankful for their support because this could be very lonely without them. Cohen has Dylan to play with everyday and a new playmate named Jack (15 months) that he just loves! They both live in our building (this is a BIG complex with lots of other couples in other areas). Jack laughs and laughs at Cohen and thinks everything he does is funny! Jack tries to keep up with Cohen and Dylan and watches what the big boys do and catches on quick! Cohen had a bath at Jack's last night after we had a lasgna dinner with all the girls and Jack splashed and splashed and Cohen didn't know what to think of it. They will have a blast in the pool this summer once it opens! Jack's mommy is Jessica and she is pregnant too and due in November so it's fun to share more similarities with others here!

Rachel, Kevin's wife is awesomely fun and is so helpful to all of us with kids! We love her!Jen and I stick together and help each other out whenever possible! It is so nice to have someone here to lean on no matter what. :)

I haven't gotten to know the other mom's and wives too well yet, but look forward to hanging out with them all and having lots of fun all summer long! Speaking of summer, I finally saw some blue skies today and wore flip flops! It has been gloomy and rainy since we got here most everyday so it was fun to be outside at the playground and enjoy the sunshine, even though the clouds soon came to paint the sky gray.

I have been here for over a week now and it has flown by! We will be heading home to prepare for the other adventure of our second baby before we know it!

Boy or Girl or Boy or maybe a Girl... can't wait for TUESDAY! AHHHH! :)
