Preschool Field Trip!

Cohen was so excited to not only have me coming on his preschool field trip to the dinosaur museum, but Daddy too!

We left Ry at the Family Center and loved spending special time with just Cohen on his big day! He loved the bus!

We had so much fun looking at the amazing artifacts and fossils! Cohen liked digging for dinosaur bones, playing on the computers and getting wet at the sand erosion table!

His class sung some songs about dinosaurs before we left and it was super cute! They also got dino fruit snacks to end the field trip and the monthly theme of learning about these giants from long ago.

Our first home, FOR SALE!

We have so many great memories of the 4 1/2 years we spent in this home! We brought our babies home here and all the holidays and regular days were full of laughter, love and happiness.

We loved this home and are grateful for our time there.

Stadium of Fire FiReWoRkS!

After the hike to Stewart Falls we came down to the Stadium of Fire and claimed a spot across the street on the soccer field to watch the great firework show!
Cohen and I had fun eating blue lik-m-aid Fun Dips and getting blue mouths!

Ryder was a little spooked by the loud banging of the fireworks at first, he had never seen them before, but then seemed to like the bright lights and colors. Cohen loved it!

In the morning we are heading to the parade bright and early!
It is hard work having so much fun!

Stewart Falls

We had so much fun going to Sundance and hiking to Stewart Falls as a family!
My ankle and leg were still healing from the accident so I had to wear flip flops which made for an interesting hike, but I made it round trip ok.

Michelle and Joe and their girls came with us. They were hiking machines and we had to try to keep up with those little balls of energy!

We packed lunches and enjoyed our sandwiches next to the beautiful waterfall when we finally made it to the top! We splashed in the water and then made the hour trip back down the trail.

Happy Father's Day!

Scott wanted to go up Provo canyon and do tinfoil dinners and s'mores for his special day! Everything was so packed by the time we got up there to find a spot, but he looked and looked found a secluded spot all to ourselves, despite my pessimism!
We enjoyed our dinners, devoured our s'mores and loved being in the beautiful mountains together celebrating Scott and the wonderful father and husband that he is.
We truly are lucky and very thankful for him and all that he does for the boys and I.
He is a loving, amazing father and I am so incredibly happy he is the one I get to share this parenting journey with.

Happy 3rd Birthday Cohen!

We had a Toy Story party for Cohen's 3rd birthday at Pirate Island (due to inclement weather, boo!) with most of my family and Scott's too and some friends! Cohen's grandparents on both sides, 8 cousins and one best friend made up just about all of his favorite people and to top it off with awesome gifts, yummy food and cake, games and balloons! You could say he had a pretty good day. :)

We love and ADORE this little guy! He is growing up faster than we can keep up with and we are so so proud of who he is becoming! He is smart, caring, super funny, excited about life and loves to cuddle! He loves Star Wars, Toy Story, could be outside his entire life, loves going on drives, loves ice cream and chips, pop corn and candy, loves his brother in a brotherly way, adores his cousins and especially Daddy and loves swimming. Cohen is one of a kind, expresses his emotions openly... he tries to negotiate a trip to Grandma's almost everyday, loves Disneyland, Curious George and dressing up in costumes, etc. He loves being tickled and read to and is so excited to go to preschool. He gives us a run for our money daily and has taught me way more than I could ever teach him. The joy this little soul brings me everyday is beyond words...

One day when he was being exceptionally awkward in getting dressed Scott said, "Are you serious!?" And he responded enthusiastically, "Ya! Like George!" (Serious sounds like CURious)

Cohen tells (well, yells at) Ryder on a regular basis saying, "It's NOT FUNNY!" when Ry is smiling and just genuinely happy about life. I try to explain to Cohen that he is not laughing at him, Ry is just smiling!" Mr. Serious, you should try it...

My run-in with a para glider

So yesterday Scott, the boys and I were up at Squaw Peak (lookout) and we were watching some paragliders that happened to be jumping from that peak into the valley. I was holding Ryder standing on the other side of the low rock wall by our car when one of the paragliders went to take off when he caught a wind that shot him back 15 feet or more, passing right by Scott and Cohen and plowing right into me and Ry. I tried to turn and move but he body slammed me mid air and I went backwards over the wall hitting the car and then the asphalt with my head, jamming my tail bone and scraping skin off my legs and ankles on the wall. I went straight back holding Ryder tight and I thought he had hit his face or head when we fell and was freaking out. He had tucked his face into my shoulder so luckily he just a few scrapes and bruises on the top of his head. People standing by held the boys when Scott and the glider knelt by me. The back of my head was swollen with a fist sized bump and I was in a lot of pain and felt dizzy and nauseous so they called 911 and I got my first ambulance ride. They secured me to stretcher and the ride to the Timpanogos hosptial was uncomfortable being on my tailbone, swollen head and road rashed legs. I was feeling very stressed the entire ride and while they did Xrays because we don't have health insurance for Scott and I and the last thing we need right now are more medical bills. The glider came to the hospital and did everything he knew how up on the mountain. He gave us his information and said he has paragliding insurance, we hope that will cover any costs for us! The hospital just rinsed my scrapes and gouges with water and wrapped them with an ace bandage, cleared my Xrays to take my neck brace off and told me I probably have a concussion and to come back if I need to. I am starting to feel better today after resting and having my mom do her energy work on me. The swelling has gone way down on my head, I am starting to be able to sit up without a lot of tail bone pain and feeling dizzy. My ankles and legs still hurt so I feel gimp and can't walk much. I have whiplash and just feel sore in general.
I think I will just tell people it was a paragliding accident and leave it at that! Sounds cooler. :)


(5 Months Later) Update: Here are some pics of the road rash and chunks out of my left foot and right heel. These don't do the pain I felt justice and don't show the intense bruising or swelling and hard muscles that formed for months in my right calf, it was like a huge rock! I couldn't wear any other shoes other than flip flops all summer which was frustrating because I had just bought a jogging stroller just before I got hurt! I had my right leg wrapped for weeks to keep the gauze on and Scott had to take a week off after the accident to take care of me and the kids and then I still needed help for another week! I have a huge chunk of scar tissue that still bothers me with some shoes almost 5 months later! My left foot completely healed, but I have dark scars all up my calf still that haven't gone away. I am thankful it wasn't worse and am so so thankful Ry was not really hurt. The guys insurance ended up covering all of the medical costs (over $3,000), plus the week of work Scott was out so it was a blessing that was taken care of for us!

We LoVe ThE ZoO!

We took our two crazy animals to Hogle Zoo with Michelle and her 4 crazy tornadoes!
(No wild animals were harmed.)

This hungry monkey REALLY wanted Cohen's peanut butter and jelly...

When I have some free time I would love to go volunteer at the Zoo and see how it is all run and hopefully spend some time with some of the amazing mammals.

In the Asian Highlands, where the beautiful tigers are, Cohen had fun dressing up!
