Weaning and first hair cut!

This last weekend I nursed Cohen for the last time, he is now completely weaned! To my relief it went a lot smoother than I thought it would! It is really bitter sweet because now he is completely his own person. He doesn't need me the way he use to. For the past year I haven't left his side for more than three hours tops (since he never took a bottle). Since I started weaning him I have enjoyed the new freedom with being able to go to dinner with my girlfriends and shopping trips with my mom. It has been good for Scott as well, I think he has enjoyed being able to comfort Cohen when I am not around and this has definitely brought them closer. Cohen just loves his daddy and is so excited when he comes home from work!
Cohen also got his first haircut today! This morning my friend Jen offered to trim it up, this was something I have been wanting to do for a couple months now. He was getting a mean mullet! And it wasn't an ordinary mullet, it was all uneven and just long on the sides and the center was shorter. I was so worried about making it look worse that I hadn't tried it myself. He looks so cute (well it looks messy in the picture above, but it looks cute when it's done!) My baby is growing up so fast! Time for another one, I guess... :)

Oh, so cute!

Most people know I love animals so when we were up the canyon eating the other day and a baby raccoon came walking out of the shrubs toward me I was so thrilled! Then we thought, "Oh, crap! Where is its mother!" We looked cautiously around and never saw her anywhere, unfortunately for the baby. It was still really small, around 8 pounds. You could tell it was hungry and it crept closer and closer so we moved our food to the car and I grabbed my camera! I was making kissing noises and it actually started coming to me! I named him Rocco! How sweet is that! All baby animals are adorable, I think. I was so excited to "play" with this little raccoon. Soon other people noticed that we were looking at something and started gathering around and tried to feed it Frito's, (IDIOTS!) which scared him off. Dang! I wanted to bring him home... Izzy and Lilly could have mothered it!
(Realistically, I know this would never work, but I can pretend! There is this girl who took in a baby coyote! )Best of luck little Rocco! I hope you grow up healthy and strong!

Cohen's 1st Birthday Party!!!

On Friday, June 13th we celebrated Cohen's first birthday with a huge party at the park!
It was a BUG PARTY! Each of the kids got a bumble bee or ladybug bug jar with their name on it and a butterfly net, bug tongs or a dragonfly magnifying glass!
We used the bug collecting toys during the BUG HUNT!

Cohen's favorite bug was worms! (Plastic ones of course!)
Look, here is a dragonfly!
We barbecued caterpillar dogs and had baked beetles, butterfly salad and bug juice! Along with fruit, chips, cake and ice cream! Scott made all 50 (yes, 50) hot dogs for all the 50 friends, cousins and family members that came to celebrate with us!
(My HOT husband!)
We rented a pavilion and decorated it with dragonflies, butterflies and streamers!
More of the party!
(There were 3 very pregnant women at the party and I was hoping someone would go into labor! Our friend Andrea (pictured below, this is probably the last picture of her pregnant), was having contractions and after she left the party she decided she should probably go to the hospital! She actually had her baby that night at 1 am! CONGRATS Andrea, Chris, Tanner and Dallin on your new baby, Colter! He is beautiful!)Cohen's cake! Oh, it was YUMMY!!!
Scott and I cutting the cake and serving it up with ice cream and a gummy worm! I want more!
Time to eat the cake! He thought the candle was exciting!
*Make a WISH!*He didn't dive right into it like I thought he would so I placed his hand on top to show him that it was his to demolish! He liked that!
Our baby is ONE! Crazy!
"Hey Dad! Do you want some?"
Happy Birthday my sweet baby!
Cohen had so much fun at his party and got to play with his Grandmommy a lot since we were busy with all the guests!
(My beautiful Mama!)
Cute as a BUG!
Cousins Devan, Cameron and Kaden!Cohen was spoiled by everyone and got great birthday presents! A lawnmower, bouncing elephant, lots of cute clothes, a puzzle, dvds, a blow up pool, books and even more toys! Thanks everyone for celebrating with us! We love our little boy!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend we went to Scott's cousins Ranch by Capital Reef. It was so relaxing, just what we needed and thankfully Cohen did great! One of the days we went on a hike and he thought that was so much fun!
We had fun hanging out with Ashley, Regan and Cole and some of their friends!
Izzy and Lilly came with us and just loved roaming the valley, but most of the time they stayed on the porch and enjoyed the view together!
They were really good girls except for when they tried to go after the horses next door and Izzy fell into a DEEP ditch and Lilly almost got kicked! We love the Ranch and always have a hard time leaving! :( We wanna go back!

How many of ME?

I think I probably would have been safer from identity theft if I had kept my maiden name...

Now I know I am not one in a million, just one in 406.
Scott was even worse off...
